kit list
April 25, 2008If you’re interested, here’s what I’ll be taking to the rainforest in the way of tech kit:
Marantz PMD 660 & Marantz PMD 620 – these are the audio recorders: one big, one small
JVC GZ-MG505E – a little camcorder
Canon G9 – still camera
Two mics, by Sennheiser (shotgun) and Audio-Technica (AT813a)
iBook
The other thing about lists (and there must be a law of lists somewhere) is that they seem to be self-sustaining. I’ve written so many lists in the last week, trying to think of everything I need to get done and then, right as I come to the end, another list magically and mysteriously develops. Now I know why they call them bullet points.
Things I didn’t consider but now realise I need, #1: silica gel, so that all the kit listed above doesn’t crash thanks to the humidity of the rainforest.

The rainforest of Brazil? I should have become a journalist!
It is too bad you didn’t let me know before going, I could have added to your lists! I spent a month in Pananama some years back.
Anyway, good luck on your trip and I will check the blog to see your progress!

Looking bloggy good, dude. By the way, since there’s probably a butt-load of charcoal in Manaus, you can use small ziploc bags of bits of charcoal in lieu of silica gel. All it does is absorb moisture. Good luck bra’ and have fun!
